Well, we're off and running on the restoration. The first part is
to build a new foundation to set the house onto. They begin by
digging the footers, which were done a little larger than normal due to
the home's additional weight from concrete plaster. Apparently
there are two main types of plaster and concrete is the heavier one,
which we're lucky enough to have. Perhaps the concrete in the
plaster is why she's held up on the inside so well.
Anyway, the footers are dug first, which surround the perimeter of the
house as well as where the "lolly columns" will be placed. The
columns will support the middle of the house where the used to be stone
walls and crawl spaces.

In this situation, the footers cannot be completed because the cribbing
stacks are in the way in some places. The footer contractor will
come back after the house is down and hand dig the remaining
footers. This is going to be an extremely difficult period
because we need to put in temporary bracing so that the mover's
equipment can come out, but we still won't have the complete
foundation. Stay tuned for that time.
What has been dug was inspected yesterday and poured the same
day. You can see one of the (3) fireplace footers to the left
side of the picture.

Next comes the blocklayer...but that won't be until next week so check back.
