The posts have been a little slow because there hasn't been much to show. Progress has been happening, but it's alot of the same work...building walls up, digging more footers. But now, finally, she's down!

Expert House Movers came back a couple weeks ago and lowered the house down, finally!

They had all the steel out in a day, and came back in the morning to finish loading trucks. Those guys are amazing! They really bust their butts! And you don't think about moving steel beams as being a delicate process, but they were incredibly careful and gentle. There was only minor damage to the new block work (aside from the dozen or so blocks they knocked out intentionally.)

The next two days we spent inserting my permament steel beams and pipe columns. That pretty much sucked. Carrying 250 lb. steel beams up ladders with only 2 maybe 3 guys really isn't a pleasant process. I hired 3 carpenters to help and of course have to thank Gary and Jim profusely for their help on these days, too. Another buddy, Doug, came up to help on the day the mover's lowered the house but we weren't able to do much. In any case, thanks to "Shiny D" for taking time out from hugging his Vette to help!
Now that all that mover's steel is out of the way, work continues. More footers to be dug out, and now block foundation walls can be completed.
It's coming together nicely.
